Posted by YouTube Fan at April 3rd, 2012
YouTube was the very first website which allowed the internet users to watch free videos of songs, movies, lectures, lessons, documentaries, and perhaps videos for everything. The best part of YouTube is that it is totally free for all the users in any part of the world. Just open your website browser, write down the address of YouTube which is youtube.com and then go for it. This website will open despite the number of users, millions of them using at a time and even watching the same videos; it will never hang or work slow. The quality of video browsing is the best on YouTube. Type the video in the search and search it. You will see all the records of videos that you have searched. Since everybody is quite familiar with YouTube and YouTube channels, it is time that you learn something about YouTube captions.
The Birth of Captions
YouTube was founded by former three PayPal members; Steven Chan, Chad Hurley and Jawed Karim on 14th February 2005. It was a super hit website since the time of its creation. But one thing was always missing in it, after one year of its creation, YouTube announced a new alteration in its video presenting and that was the caption support. It was announced in 2006. Captions are the descriptions that are mostly provided with pictures, to tell the details. YouTube creators introduced the concept of captions with video telling the details of a video. It was a nice idea and people encouraged it a lot. Today, YouTube creators have more than one million, sixty hundred thousand videos that are uploaded with captions. This concept is encouraged by YouTube today and there is an option of putting a caption when a video is being uploaded. To make your video more enjoyable and to make it more viewable for the viewers by giving them details of that video, it is important to write captions for each and every video that is uploaded on YouTube.
Getting an International Audience
Captions make your video understandable to those who don’t speak the language the video is recorded in, allowing it to spread across country borders. Using English captions is perhaps the best way to reach the widest audience, unless you are targeting a specific audience. Captions also provide more options that help a lot in reading and then viewing a video. Even people that are random users of YouTube like their feature because other video browsing websites never provide such luxuries. Captions are growing rapidly each year. There is now an automatic caption for YouTube videos and not a single video is uploaded on it without bearing a caption. Not only in English, but captions can be put in other languages such as Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Dutch, Urdu, Arabic, Hindi, Persian, Russian and etc. Today, YouTube videos are available and can be searched by the world’s renowned search engine Google which makes it more users friendly. YouTube and Google workers are indeed working very hard to satisfy their primary and secondary users and that too is a fact now.
Videos on YouTube can be searched easily even by entering the caption. It also helps a lot in broadcasting a video all over the world. And this is indeed not the last option introduced by YouTube. There will be more options that are to be introduced by YouTube soon.
