YouTube Video Extras
YouTube ranking isn’t just about view count anymore. As begins to move towards a community-focused website, it looks to push up videos that have high view counts and a good number of what we are going to call “Extras.” By the word “extras,’ we are referring to Likes, Favorites, Comments, and Subscribers.
Why are these so important? Think about it logically – if a video has thousands and thousands of views, but no comments, likes or favorites, how does that look to YouTube? It looks as if the people who watched it weren’t really engaged. YouTube wants its visitors to be engaged so they stay on the site longer to watch more videos. It may also look suspicious to YouTube if you have tons of views, but no likes, favorites, or comments.
Likes are similar to Facebook Likes. All the user has to do is click the Like button. Easier said than done, right? Only a small percentage of users will ever interact with the videos, and when they do, it must have really spoken out to them! Likes look very good to YouTube and is also extremely beneficial for those organic visitors that come to your video – the more they see that people Like your video, the more likely they are to stay on and watch the whole thing.
Favorites are an indicator that the user REALLY liked your video because they’ve put the video into a place where they can easily find it again, which means they like it enough to watch it again! This happens less often than you think. How often do you add a video to your favorites? Rarely. This is a great thing for YouTube to see on your video because it likely means it contains really wonderful content.
Comments are the most time consuming of all YouTube interactions. When it comes to our comments, we only have writers from native English speaking countries write the comments on your video. Our writers come from the U.S., U.K., Australia and Canada. They all watch your video and write a comment that is relevant to the video. We can also have comments written in other languages. Please send us an email to receive a price quote and more information.
Subscribers just might be the future of YouTube. Logically, if a visitor subscribes to your channel, it potentially means they want to watch ALL of your videos! YouTube looks at this extremely positively and we think will increasingly weigh this more and more in determining rankings.
