YouTube Likes

Similar to Facebook Likes, YouTube Likes are a way for your viewers to show you and everyone else (including YouTube itself) that they enjoyed watching your video. Why do you need Likes? YouTube ranks videos based on view count and community interaction, which is exactly what Likes do – it shows that the community likes your video.

YouTube can’t see the content of every video uploaded. Every second, there is one hour of video uploaded to YouTube. There is no way that YouTube can watch all of that video – and YouTube doesn’t rank videos based on their own preferences. They want their site to be a community site that lets its own people push videos up. It is also important to remember that it is not just about Likes. It is ideal to have tons of Views, but also a good number of Likes, Favorites and Comments. YouTube would find it suspicious when there are, say 500,000 views, and NO Comments, Likes or Favorites.
